Playful User Experiences

Case & Cocktails

15:00 - 17:00

THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED. Does corporate have to be boring? Why does one-way communication dominate when most of us learn best through play and involvement?

The promises were big, and the hope was bright when the World Wide Web was released in 1993, and Flash came along in 1996. There were plenty of experimental, surprising, quirky, and engaging experiences. Today, we think more about performance, conversion, and UI conventions.

But is there something to gain from rediscovering playful user experiences? What can be done in a regular browser? Is it for all companies – and does it work in terms of delivering results?

We welcome our Creative Director, Kasper Møller, and Creative Tech Director, David Adalberth, who will challenge the conventions of modern digital experiences. Where did our Safari go? Once upon a time, we explored the infinite World Wide Web, but today the story is a bit different. We reflect on conventional thinking and UI conventions that result in predictable and flat digital experiences.

Later, you will hear from James Norwood, Experience Design Specialist from The LEGO Foundation, who will talk about The LEGO Foundation's mission of learning through play, and facilitate a creative reflection experience with a new tool developed in collaboration with Dwarf. Also, Katrine Granholm, Digital Children's Editor at DR, will talk about children's ability to empathize, how Ramasjang creates children's universes, and reflect on what it means to be a child and what actually applies to all age groups.

We conclude with a Q&A session with Andel Energi, who took a chance with the game "Familien Strøm". Does it make sense for a utility company to use a playful experience to engage the target audience and create awareness about the green transition? What went well, and what didn't go so well? Can all companies benefit from an approach like this?

After the agenda, we invite you to enjoy cold drinks, a light meal, and music.
