Whitelabel – multibrand solutions with solid economies of scale
If you look up "white-label" on Wikipedia, it says: "A white-label product is a product or service produced by a company that other companies rebrand so that it appears as their own product". A product in a generic packaging you put your own brand over. The product still has to be produced every time, but the costs of product development and production equipment are shared.
The white label idea is even stronger in the digital field, where the economies of scale are typically even greater and can be scaled up to platform-as-a-service solutions.
We have used the model many times. From magazines, trade magazines, and TV stations to shopping centres and football clubs. We have published two client cases illustrating the breadth. Read about Divisionsforeningen, which provides a football club-as-a-service platform available to all clubs from the Superliga to the 3rd division, or about TV2 Regions, which is Denmark's largest local media through 8 regional TV stations/media.
